 ما المقصود ب [idioms] ؟ 

#هي جمل لا يُقصَد بها المعنى المباشر(المعنى الحرفي) ولها مدلول آخر(المعنى المجازي). 

( تشبه الكنايات والاستعارات المكنية في اللغة العربية).

 #المعنى_الحرفي : ألم في الرقبة.

 #المعنى_المجازي: شخص مزعج او شيء مزعج.


(3) Fat chance

 #المعنى_الحرفي : فرصه بدينه (سمينه). 

 #المعنى_المجازي: شيء صعب جدا حدوثه. 

(بالعامية: بسابع المستحيلات أو فى المشمش.) 


(4) Walking on air

 #المعنى_الحرفي : المشي على الهواء.

 #المعنى_المجازي: نستخدمها لوصف الشعور بالسعادة والراحة. 

( بالعامية: طاير من الفرح.)


(5) I wear my heart on my sleeve

 #المعنى_الحرفي : أنا ارتدي كمي على قلبي. 

#المعنى_المجازي: اللى بقلبي على لساني. 


(6) Wake up and smell the coffee

#المعنى_الحرفي: استيقظ واشتم رائحة القهوة. 

#المعنى _المجازي: فتح عينيك واعرف الحقيقة وخليك واعي باللي بيصير حواليك.

 #المعنى_الحرفي: تعني يحصل على لدغة او عضة. 

 #المعنى_المجازي : تعني تناول وجبة خفيفة مرادف لكلمة Snack .

حرفيًا: هو مكتوب في جميع انحاء وجهك. 

مجازيًا: باين على وجهك *غضب،فرح،حزن*.

حرفيًا: انا لم أولد بالأمس. 

مجازيًا :لاتستغبيني. 


(12) Twisted my arm

حرفيًا: لويت ذراعي. 

مجازيًا: أجبرتني-غيرتلي رأيي. 


(13) You missed the boat

حرفيًا: فاتك القارب. 

مجازيًا: راحت عليك، فات الأوان. 


(14) It's raining cats and dogs

حرفيًا: إنها تمطر قطط وكلاب. 

مجازيًا: إنها تمطر بغزارة. 


(15) Break the ice 

المعنى الحرفي : اكـسـر الثلج. 

المعنى المجازي : مهد الأمور أو مهد الطريق لأمر ما. 


(16) He looks blue

المعنى الحرفي : هو يبدو أزرقاً. 

المعنى المجازي : هو يبدو حزيناً. 


(17) She is in the clouds

المعنى الحرفي : هي في الغيوم. 

المعنى المجازي : هي شاردة الذهن.

المعنى الحرفي : سأصبح موزة. 

المعنى المجازي : سأجن أو سأفقد عقلي.
